This work talks about the conservation of macrofauna, specifically elephants in this case. The need to preserve large wild open spaces to facilitate the movement of these species. 

My childhood contained very special memories of driving through large herds of elephant in Botswana. I imagined I could talk to them, and in my imagination one winked at me. 

Elephants are highly intelligent, and can communicate over 20 km far with each other. They have emotions, and do burials and grieve when one of their group passes away. Talk about negotiation skills required for the job hay. Try negotiating with one of these oukies ;) Or any of the other animals that we share our planet with.
